Risk factors for Type 2 Diabetes that cannot be changed:
Age 45 years or older
Family history of diabetes
Member of certain race/ethnic groups:
African American, Asian American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino, or Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander
History of prediabetes (borderline diabetes)
For women:
History of gestational diabetes mellitus, having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, or having had a baby over 9 pounds.

High blood pressure (hypertension)
